Peripheral Neuropathy · Fort Lauderdale

The medication isn’t fixing it. You already know that.

The burning feet. The pins and needles. The numbness you check for every morning, hoping it shrank overnight. You’ve done what you were told, and the pills only ever muffled it. There is a different way to approach neuropathy: support the nerves themselves, not just the symptoms.

The Real Problem

Neuropathy steals more than feeling

Three layers of the same problem, what the body feels, what it does to you, and why it’s wrong to leave it there.

What’s Happening

When shoes, sleep, and stairs become negotiations

Burning soles at night. Electric jolts. Feet that feel wrapped in cellophane. Stumbles you never used to have. Sensations that make shoes, sleep, and stairs into daily negotiations.

How It Feels

The exhaustion of pretending you're fine

The quiet fear of where this is heading. The embarrassment of slowing everyone down. The creeping suspicion that you’re supposed to just live like this, and the exhaustion of pretending you’re fine.

Why It Matters

Managing symptoms isn’t the same as being treated.

You shouldn’t have to choose between feeling your feet and feeling like yourself. “Managing symptoms” is not the same as being treated. You deserve more than a prescription refill.

The villain isn’t your doctor. It’s the playbook.

Nobody upstream is paid to ask whether the nerves themselves can be helped. That’s the gap this clinic exists to close.

The standard system has one move for neuropathy: mask the signal. Gabapentin, pregabalin, duloxetine, medications that quiet the alarm while the fire keeps burning.

How It Works

Every therapy aimed at one target: the nerves themselves.

Acupuncture

Targets the nervous system’s amplified pain signaling itself, the central sensitization that keeps neuropathic pain alive, quieting the alarm at its source rather than muffling it downstream.

ATP Resonance BioTherapy®

Microcurrent at millionths of an ampere, FDA-cleared for the symptomatic relief of pain. We use it to support cellular ATP production, the energy nerves need to repair, while calming inflammation around damaged fibers. Most patients feel nothing during the session itself; where nerves respond, sensation tends to return gradually, over weeks.

O3 ReBoot Therapy®

Ozone-based regenerative therapy that boosts oxygen delivery and microcirculation to nerves starved by damaged capillaries. Neuropathy is, in large part, a supply problem; O3 ReBoot works on the supply lines.

Your Guide

We’ve heard this story. Thousands of times.

Patients arrive here carrying the same two things: a bag of medications and the sentence “they told me I’d have to live with it.” Susan Mitchell has spent more than three decades proving that sentence wrong, not with promises, but with a protocol.

Susan Mitchell, AP is a Florida-licensed Acupuncture Physician and clinical director of South Florida Acupuncture in Fort Lauderdale. She combines acupuncture and ATP Resonance BioTherapy®, with O3 ReBoot Therapy® added, into a single coordinated protocol, tailored to each patient’s case.

The nerve cases others gave up on

The burning feet and numb hands that “nothing has touched” are most of what walks through this door. She has spent years learning which nerves still have a response left in them, and how to reach it.

You’re Not a Case Number

Your protocol, personalized

Your treatment frequency, therapy mix, and program length are set as a plan at your evaluation, built around your case. We hold to that plan for the most part, and adjust it as needed when your response calls for it.

Nerve involvement & duration

How long you’ve had symptoms and how much sensation has changed sets your starting intensity.

Your response

Your baseline is measured at the evaluation, and adjustments follow what those numbers do over the course of care.

Your goal

For some cases the finish line is regained sensation; for others, stopping the spread. We define it with you, not for you.

A timeline of a plan's visit cadence. Each mark is a visit. The marks are close together and heaviest through an intensive phase, space out and lighten through a consolidation phase, and are furthest apart and lightest through a reinforcement phase: care tapers as the plan progresses. Your plan is set at your evaluation. Frequency steps down as your measured progress allows, and it can step back up again if needed. This describes how a plan is shaped over time, not a promise about results.

Candidacy comes first: the evaluation determines whether the program fits your case, then we discuss the investment in person.

What’s at Stake

Untreated neuropathy does not stand still

Nerve damage is progressive. Numbness spreads. Balance declines, and with it, independence; falls become the hinge-point of late-life health. Wounds on feet you can’t feel go unnoticed. The window where nerves respond best to treatment is early, not late. Waiting is also a decision, it’s just one made by the neuropathy instead of you.

What Success Looks Like

Imagine the ordinary moments neuropathy took from you

Illustration of bare feet stepping onto a cool tiled floor

Barefoot on the tile

Walking to the kitchen at night without bracing for the burn, and feeling the cool floor instead.

Illustration of a person sleeping peacefully in bed at night

A full night’s sleep

No 3 a.m. burning-feet wake-up. No rearranging blankets that feel like sandpaper.

Illustration of bare feet walking on wet sand at the shoreline

The beach walk back

Sand underfoot as a pleasure again, not a hazard you navigate.

Illustration of a person standing steady and balanced

Steady on your feet

Standing from a chair without the wobble. Grandkids picked up without a second thought.

Questions, Answered

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the degree of nerve damage, which is why we evaluate first. Peripheral nerves retain some capacity to regenerate when circulation, cellular energy, and signaling are supported, which is what the protocol aims to support. Where damage is too advanced, we say so at the consultation.
General-purpose acupuncture is not a neuropathy protocol. Your program combines acupuncture with ATP Resonance BioTherapy® and O3 ReBoot Therapy® in a staged, personalized clinical structure with progress measurement, a fundamentally different intervention.
No. We work alongside your prescribing physician. Many patients reduce medication over time in consultation with their doctor as symptoms improve, but that is your physician’s call, never ours alone.
Patients who respond typically log their first measurable changes during the initial intensive phase. Durable improvement is built across the rehabilitation phase, nerve repair can happen, but it is not fast.
If that feels right to you, absolutely. Many patients simply book; no referral or permission is needed. Either way, the evaluation gives you something concrete to bring to that conversation: a read on your case and a specific plan, rather than a general idea.
The consultation is real clinical time: your history, a pattern assessment, and a decision about candidacy. Charging for it keeps it exactly that, rather than a pitch with a clipboard. Sometimes the decision is that you’re not a candidate. The fee covers that answer too.
